Hi everyone. Im seeing my surgeon after my 6 mths chemo ends in Feb. She did a RHS masectomy in July last year. She didnt use a tissue expander as im due to start radiotherapy after 5 weeks break post chemo. What are reco costs of skin flap vs an implant? I dont have private hospital cover. Im on a public wait list currently. Do I go with a public surgeon or increase the private insurance then do the 12 mths waiting period for surgery? Im also looking at a preventative masectomy for LHS. Can i get masectomy and reco on LHS same time? Surgeon wouldnt do RHS reco at the time as was urgent they remove the tumour. How do mammograms detect anything if implants are used? Hoping anyone can help.
