How to support-stage 4 lung cancer

Hi I have just found out that my mum has stage 4 lung cancer. She previously had breast cancer. She's got the choice of the normal chemo or a trial. It is such a shock. I was surprised that it's a 2 week wait for treatment. I don't know what to do to help
