Sometimes it’s just really itchy and red but goes back to normal and other times I get something like the photo attached. It’s like a rash however it’s under my skin. Funnily enough, once I have that rash it doesn’t cause any itching and eventually goes away - however the itch in that area can return a couple weeks later. The original itching first started from when I got very sunburnt on a cruise, I ended up getting an extreme itch on my legs and back where the burn was and the doctor said it was an allergic reaction, prescribed a cream and anti hystemene and sent me on my way. The cream did dull the itch and the areas of my sunburn improved however 2 months later I still get itchy but it’s all over now, not just limited to where I was sunburnt.

I have been back to the doctor and had a blood test, all blood count is fine and I have excellent health - in regard to the spots and rashes I’ve been getting, the doctor just said I should moisturize after a shower with sorbelene....

also so for the past few weeks I’ve been exhausted. Not so much a need to sleep, just no energy even just after 2 hours of being awake.

I know itching and fatigue can be a symptom of lymphoma - I have checked my lymph nodes in my neck, armpits and they don’t appear to have any enlarged lumps - however that being said I generally am a little lumpy apparently so I find it hard to tell as I do feel lumps but I am not sure if that’s normal or not.

I feel like the doctors don’t seem to care all too much, I’m 29 so still young and blood count was fine - I just don’t think putting some sorbelene on my skin is going to solve the itch/rash - however I have attempted it and it hasn’t done too much.

Has anyone experienced this before - and had a rash that looks like mine? Should I be pushing my doctors to test further ?

Hi Lauren, I'll say straight up that I'm not a Doctor, however my husband was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma so I'm pretty confident when I say if your blood tests were fine then you don't need to worry about lymphoma. If it was lymphoma your white cell count would not have been normal. Maybe you could ask for a referral to a Dermatologist (skin specialist) about your rash?

Did you mention your fatigue to your Doctor? That may be something they can help you with- vitamin or mineral deficiencies can be common causes and are simple to treat. I wish you improved health! love Emily

I find it more like having a seasonal allergy, do you have any swelling? If it is swollen and feels like there are lumps inside, then it is scary. If not, I'm guessing it's just a seasonal allergy or an inflammation of the pores.

venge io

Please don’t spread Misinformation. I was diagnosed with stage 4 follicular lymphoma after a year of doctors telling me I was fine because my blood counts were perfect. You know your body. I had a 6x6 inch mass in my abdomen, swollen inguinal, cervical, axillary, mesenteric, etc and in my bone marrow. By white blood cells counts were perfect. My LDH perfect. Please don’t tell people their counts will reflect their health

My Lichen condition seemed to have started in 2017. I now have Lichen on my scalp, face, back, vulva, chest, and in my mouth. The parches of itchy skin can be fine and then all of a sudden cause intense itching. At the same time Lichen began, I experienced intense feelings of active “nerves” (tingling) under my left shoulder blade. My dermatologist had a name for the shoulder blade issue and prescribed Gabapentin for sleep because at that time it was keeping me awake. This all seemed to start with a flu vaccination.

The condition I’m keeping under control with various meds. Lately, I accidentally applied retin A to my vulva, thinking the tube contained clobetasol, and IT HELPED! Looked this up online and yes, retinoids ARE prescribed for this condition! So, I will consult my dermatologist about obtaining an rx. As a matter of fact, retinal A applied in rather large amounts has helped patches of it on my back and other places. In the pictures used for the article, I notice areas of rash look a bit purplish and wonder if hers could be same as mine for purplish spots is a term used to help classify lichen.

So true about the normal labs with cancer diagnosis. The story of my life. Just about every ailment I’ve had has begun and progressed in a non traditional way- e.g. had completely normal labs with gallstones that were so prolific my gallbladder almost burst. Symptoms I had prior to that were brushed off as GERD/reflux and IBS/IBD.

Listen to your body and press your Dr to do tests even if your labs are “fine.” Keep complaining about whatever it is that’s the issue. Someone is bound to get to it hopefully sooner than later. Educate yourself too. Drs loathe the self educated patient, but if you know how to talk to your dr w/o offending his fragile ego (rolling eyes), he might just listen and learn something new!

You are so wrong and you are spreading misinformation. I’ve only registered to reply to your post to spread awareness.
I was diagnosed with follicular lymphoma stage 4b in 2021 my blood tests were perfectly fine.
also my aunt passed away from leukaemia. She had regular blood tests. Her blood counts were all good until it was too late.
