When to stop chemo

Hi all

I've been fighting bladder cancer for four years & been able to keep my bladder because the cancer is still contained, even though I've had several tutors removed & 21 courses of BCG.

Recently I felt a bit crook, gp visit & CT etc and have now been diagnosed with inoperable, terminal stomach cancer, unrelated to the bladder. They are now not treating the bladder as the Signet Ring stomach cancer had spread already. Prognosis is 12-24 months.

This week I will have my 4th round of pallative chemo & I am starting to wonder if I should then stop as atm I'm over the side effects & fatigue & my quality of life is worse on treatment.

I am having a CT after this round.

I am so sorry to hear about your further diagnosis. I hope the Online Group are able to provide some support for you. I really recommend giving Cancer Council a call on 13 11 20 as we have some specific services for people with advanced stage cancers. 13 11 20 are able to provide both information and support as you are navigating treatment decisions.

Hi Oh Dear sorry to read about heartbreaking diagnosis, with the bad side effects from palliative Chemo,the decision to cease treatment is a very difficult personal decision,for you to make,your body has been under treatment stress for quite some time,ultimately it’s your decision ,you know what is best for yourself.

Hi Tim, so sorry about your diagnosis. Just devastating for you 😢. Is the palliative chemo for the stomach cancer? After your CT scan the doc will be able to give you more info.
