Hello all and thank you for this opportunity, after nearly 4 months of doctors visits looking for answers to pelvic pain which I thought may have been related to a 14 year old hernia repair, so many tests, blood and scans I started questioning if a prostate issue may be the cause, no scan would reveal any issue, docs refusing to even do a psa or dre as I had no other symptoms other than groin pain and elevated wbc, frustrated I ordered privately a psa blood test on 2 occasions with both results 0.60 and 0 70, feeling that something was still not right I went back to the doctor and demanded a referral to a urologist which I was able to see the following week, he performed dre which was of no concern but ordered prostate specific mri be done, my heart sunk when I accessed results online stating that indeed I did have prostate cancer, I think I just want to say if you have a gut feeling stick with what you believe in and seek further opinions.

Hi, in July 2024 I saw my GP regarding prostate issues. I had a PSA blood test which came back as 1.0, normal for my age. I then had an ultrasound which showed an enlarged prostate and was relived to hear not cancer, I was prescribed duodart medication, but after a week I suffered extreme side effects from the medication and was referred to a Urologist, after CT, & MRI I had a Turp & biopsy, the turp went well but the biopsy came back positive for grade 2 prostate cancer. I decided the best way to proceed was to have my prostate removed with robot assisted prostatectomy and therefore no longer an issue, I then had a PT scan in November which came back showing athe known Gleason 3/4 lesion on my prostate. I had a further PSA test 1 week prior to the surgery, score1.1, I then on 24 March I had the surgery . I saw my Urologist last week and was informed the pathology came back showing the known grade 2 cancer with a small grade 4 cancer attached. My Urologist is confident he removed all the cancer. Now I have an 8 week wait to see if my PSA has dropped to 0.0.
