34 years of and breast cancer diagnosis

Hi everyone,

I am looking for people to share this journey with that can support me along the way. I am 34 years old and had a lumpectomy yesterday. I see the doctor again in 2 weeks time to discuss the radiation and further treatment. I have a four year old son and recently miscarried.

Would love to connect to other young people dealing with this journey.

As you say, it's a journey. It's happened and we're all along for the ride.

What was the prognosis about the tissue that was removed?

I’m. It 100% sure just yet. It was only removed yesterday. I’m hoping to hear from the surgeon on Monday. I have a follow up appointment on 26/7. It’s only early days for me yet.

I went to the doctors today but my results are still not in! So anxious waiting for the results only to have to walk away still waiting!!

Sorry, got results the other day - they got it all with the lump - invasive ductal carcinoma that is ER+ and Pr+

one of the senital nodes has micrometatastes so I need more surgery before chemo and radiation. I see the surgeon again on Friday so I hope to have more of a plan then.

Feeling pretty good. I’m positive and trust the surgeon. I’ll hear from him again in the next day or two once the oncologist team have decided the way forward. I just want to get it all started so that it ends soon!!!

Hi Nik

It's good to hear you are doing well. I am almost 4 weeks post surgery. I had a lot of high moments. I also had a lot of low moments. I see my Oncologist today. I've been looking forward to it, but I'm feeling quite anxious. Hoping for good news but not expecting it. Still I'd rather know than not.

I'll tell you what just picked me up this morning. I had a song in my head. It's a beautiful day, by Queen. Give a try when you're feeling blue.

In the meantime, stay strong and good luck with the Oncologist .

Did you have a chance to discuss with your oncologist team how you are going to proceed?

Thank you for checking in. I had my third round of chemo yesterday. Have one more round to go then I’ll finish the year with radiation if it all keeps going to plan. I’m getting there 🙂

Hi,

I am so glad you are doing so well and already 3 chemo treatments done. They go much quicker than we think they will. My thought going through chemo was at least those chemicals were killing the cancer!
