topic New member, HNPCC positive in I've just been diagnosed

Hi everyone, I have just joined although I tested positive to HNPCC four years ago at age 34. I am the youngest of five children with the only one who carries the gene.

Until now I have always thought myself lucky to have this knowledge, but as I get older and have all the regular tests I fear what could be around the corner.

It has been recommended that I have a hysterectomy, and I am in the process of deciding what to do, I have finished having children, I have three, 15,12, and 5. But I am finding this decision hard, mainly because of the onset of menopause.

Any advice would be appreciated or if anyone else has made a similar decision I would like to hear their thoughts.
