Hi. After 5 years with continuous treatment, surgeries, chemo, I am now stage 4 terminal, and have just hit a milestone of 12 months of chemo having treatment every 2 week. Life is hard.

Hey There

Cancer is a shit-show, no doubt, and often the treatments (and side effects) are as bad as the disease itself.

Just wanted to mention the immunotherapy studies and clinical trials, where they are having successes in pushing back disease in cancer patients who were otherwise considered terminal / palliative.

If you weren't aware of this line of treatment, it's basically where conventional science is headed - toward supercharging your own autoimmune response to attack the mutation / cancer. The idea is also that cancer is largely "invisible" to the immune system, and that there are treatments that spray paint a big red "kill this" sign onto it.

I personally know someone who was Stage 4 terminal (given less than a year to live) and got on these trials, and he's still kicking along several years later.

Just mentioning in case it's something you (or anyone else reading this) might find value or hope in talking to your oncologist.
