I underwent a full open radical nephrectomy to remove my right kidney, lymph nodes and surrounding fat tissue (3 weeks 2 days ago). Unfortunately the cancer has spread to all lymph nodes (chest, back etc) and I have mets in both lungs. I am starting treatment Monday (3 weeks, 4 days post op) with Voltrient 800mgs. Am planning to return to work 4 weeks post op and am hoping to return home (Brisbane) by Christmas. Would really love to chat to others in same or similar position. I am a little concerned about returning home re the speed and availability of medical care, and the accessibility of drugs/trails.
