Hi Gayle, Glad to hear your husband is going well post surgery and that it hasn't spread to his liver or lungs. Those are all great signs! My husband went in for another biopsy today and then we should have the meeting with the oncologists in another week or so to find out the plan. I doubt anyone I know would stumble along my post and I feel like if they did they'd know from my bio but- We were together for about 2 or so years when he was diagnosed with ALL. We've been going strong throughout and it's been a little over 7 years now. Currently I can't speak to him because I can't physically due to the condition he's in. I can't really go too much into detail since this is still sort of new even though his jounery has been for 5 years on and off. As of right now it's on but he's fighting something that after a lot of treatment has put him here. Dear Amanda It is the scariest time for you but as a retired dentist and a mum of 5 including a disabled daughter I want to say to you how lucky you were that this was found by a dentist. That increases your chance of recovery so much more than if it had progressed till you had symptoms and went to a doctor. Also you are thinking of your beautiful three children so you have such a strong will to come through any treatment. I found that been grateful for getting a relatively early diagnosis and concerned about my daughter helped me through my diagnosis and treatment almost two years ago. I also found having to care for someone else helped me make a rapid recovery but learn to accept any offer of help from family and friends. also when the fatigue hits learn to put your feet up for short rests but keep active when you can. I listened to the webinar on exercise and recovering from any cancer tonight which was great. Any form of cancer is scary and bad luck but we can help ourselves to recover. Hi Rog I find it hard to believe your oncologist is not addressing your pain issues, I found my Palative Cair Nurse very helpful in this regards as managing pain is such a big aspect of quality of life. Hi KEE1k1 Your post resonated many mixed feelings in me as I am looking at my / our journey from the other side as I plan with my family for a living funeral in the near future. The significant importance of you not being there at your husbands passing happened to a friend recently and I’m sure he new his time had come and his adoring wife also missed the opportunity to be with him at the last moment. She felt as though she had been cheated of that special last moment together it can’t be changed now but I feel her loss for sure. Hi John, As far as peoples experiences with lenvatinib go, according to wikipedia, lenvatinib was only approved for use 5 or 6 years ago, so that is quite recent in the scheme of things.  I have no idea how many have had it, but I guess it's relatively recent use for the treatment of thyroid cancer I guess would limit how many people have used it so far.   You're right about the community. Hi Paul, So sorry to hear that your biopsy was so traumatic. How awful for you. I hope you’re starting to feel better, are being well looked after and you’re breathing is starting to settle. Also hope that the treatment you require isn’t as brutal as what you’ve already experienced.   I know I’ve certainly had moments of self pity, being scared of what the future holds and self consciousness as random people stare at my scarred & still slightly swollen jaw post surgery but I’m still here. All perfectly normal emotions as we process and live with the c-word.
