Impact on social support

A cancer diagnosis can leave you feeling a range of emotions that can change over time. It’s important to draw on social networks for support but we recognise that sometimes, with more people living alone and others isolating to reduce their risk of COVID-19, social networks may be less available.
If you are a young person who has cancer or if someone you love has cancer, you might be feeling particularly anxious about COVID-19.

It is recommended to attend support groups virtually where possible, especially if you are immunocompromised, or will be in contact with a person who is immunocompromised.
