Just a message to everyone to wish them a Happy Daffodil Day 2011. Thinking of all of you today, and hope that the brightness of the daffodil makes your day a lot better. My new profile photo is the colour for uterine cancer, September is the month to recognise this.

Thank you Bev and Happy Daffodil Day to you too. Also a big hello to all carers (family, friends, medical) of a loved one with cancer, thanks for helping us make another birthday.

Last Daffodil Day I actually had cancer but didn't have the slightest suspicion about it so the day did not seem particularly relevant to me. This Daffodil Day I no longer have cancer as it has all been cut out and/or chemoed away but the day is now significant to me. Is that irony?

Thank you for your comments. I was lucky enough to win a prize with the cancer council facebook page. Merkel nominated me, and I won a lovely bunch of 50 daffodils.

Hi Allicat, Yes that is irony? Same thing for me too except with shave for a cure. I shaved my head to raise funds and in memory of my dad back in 2008 and experienced what it is like for a cancer patient living through the effects (hair loss only) of chemo. My kidney cancer treatment does not involve chemo. We never escape our lessons in life, just when you think geez, this does not make sense at all......a few years later the jig saw puzzle come together!
