Last month I was diagnosed pancreatic cancer that has spread to my spine and liver.
i am 54 years old, i have a 1 year old son, this is the first time i have ever done a community post....... and i want to live 😀and watch my son grow up.
Like everthing i do in life, I am treating my cancer journey as a business and as an adventure.
I am looking for other like minded people that look at the world in a similar way - ie a glass half-full perspective and is solution driven.
As i do in business (and any important decisions we make as a family) I try to surround myself by smart and solution driven people to work out the best possibilities for yhe challenge at hand. When it comes to my current journey this could include:
- Diet: How to create a delicious yet practical diet to make me feel good each day (i do not want food nazis that says no fairy, no sugar and live on nuts as that worked for a tobetan monk - this is not practical. We need to discuss real solutions that may include eating meat, vegies treats snd even the odd beer (obviously t here will be balanced sacrafices required)
- Treatment: I have started on an agressive chemo and radiation treatment plan whilst the genomic profiling is done to learn about alternative trials to consider. But what i want to talk to others about that are doing chemo how do you handle the side effects. Ie. I can not dribble or eat anything cold or i get a soasm in my jaw, i can eat food that is tangy or sweat or i get a pins and needle effect on my mouth. I don't mind suffering these side effects if the result is a better outcome... but if it is for no benefit i want to make changes???
Exercise: What can i do to make my body feel better and react better to treatment.
Other: what other initial topics should i be searching answers and solutions too.
Anyway....i am not sure if this is even how you are meant to do a post on this forum 😀 but i thought i would share my thoughts to see if anyone else is thinking like me?
Is there a wattsapp group to share thoughts and pose topics awaiting solutions?
Everything we learn and do i want to teach an ai cancer coach in a positive and proactive way. Ie. The ai cancrr ciach (bot) will answer every question using factual data we teach it and from generic data from global experts and trials. The only caveat is every answer will be formed in a positive tone that is solution driven.... and it will also written in s format that you can share with family and live ones so they do not get scared or upset..... there is to much bullshit info online that we do not need. We need the facts but also always with true positivity.
I am not a religious person (but also have nothing against anyones faith), i love beer, travelling, entrepernurship.... and people with a good sense of humour.
I want this forum open to anyone in thd world. I have probably travelled to 100+ countries. I currently have a team in working with across 15 countries around the world.
We are all dealing with a global problem... lets create a global solution to help everyone with ai cancer coaches to improve all our lives together.
Lets see what responses i get!!!!
Hi Ant24
you have a harsh diagnosis there, sorry to read that. The cancer has spread, while I was on treatment, food wasn’t something I wanted but I ate what my body could take,I got in to mushrooms,as supposedly they are good for your immune system,my mates supplied me with venison snags,I also ate cfresh fish, weetbix, and for some reason my body craved scrambled eggs,it still does occasionally. My diet is reasonable I still take Creon it helps with meals ! Was told vitamin D so I still take 1000 Iu daily. It can be helpful during treatment.
i also was in to veggies and hospital sustained smoothies blended with bananas and milk.
our bodies react differently to chemo and radiation of which I didn’t have,I was lucky enough to just have surgery and chemo, the strength of which was be tailored to my blood tests and how I felt.
you just have to find by trial and error what works diet wise for your self,Walking is the best exercise you can do keep it up regularly when you can ,also your mind will play a big part,I listened to relaxation tapes,
With Pancreatic Cancer the blood can thicken so talk to your medical team about prevention. Of other issues from it.
wish I had some more suggestions that helped me,Also drink heaps of water after chemo it helps flush your body.
best wishes
kj
I was lucky with my medical team straight up front with answers of the questions I asked.
Thanks kj, that has been super helpful
