Hi. I'm new and I recently learnt I have terminal, malignant oesophageal cancer. I only became aware of it because one day out of the blue, I had trouble swallowing a mouthful of bread.
Gastroscopy, biopsy, found 'Terry'. He's a 13 cm long and is an unwanted passenger who enjoys giving me enormous trouble eating. Terry is currently marinating in chemo drugs once a fortnight for 3 days.
This will go on for 6 months maybe followed by radiation therapy.
The thing that I really wanted to talk about, was how others approached their family and told them. I have been surprised to find strangers empathetic while some relatives have been disappointing.
