I was diagnosed with oesophageal squamous cell carcinoma cancer. I’ve been treated with chemo and radiation therapy. This killed the cancer but because of over radiation has caused scarring which makes the oesophagus close up where the cancer was. Severe stricture. As time goes on it’s getting worse. They dilate and stretch to 10mm but after a few weeks it shrinks again and I can’t eat or drink and have a lot of mucus and saliva which I have to spit up frequently. I have to take a jar with me wherever I go. I have a stomach peg and feed with Isosource 1.5cal which has kept me alive for 2 years now. I’ve had 4 dilation and now they’re talking about putting in a stent which I’m afraid of. I was wondering if there is anyone out there who has had an oesophagus stent and would kindly share their experience with me. Thank you
