Hi Glenys
I'm really glad to hear you went to BreaCan and it was helpful. The first time I went there I cried and cried and they listened and helped me feel a bit better.
I went to the pool last night and it made me think of you and I was planning to check the website today to see how you were.
Best Wishes
Allicat

Hi Mignon, I like your black swan.
I had my mastectomy the day before Good Friday last year so I am thinking about it quite a lot this weekend. My first cat, who I loved very much, died a number of years ago in the early hours of Easter Saturday so I think of her too.
In spite of those things, Easter is still a good time. I am lucky enough to be able to spend time with my family and we are all now in good health.
Best wishes for Easter to all.

Today I went to the GP for some scripts and since I was there he gave me a free flu shot. Apparently I qualify as some sort of vulnerable person who gets free flu shots. I liked the fact that this didn't bother me - I don't feel like I am a vulnerable person but I accept that I meet whatever criteria it is.
Even better than that was when he asked me which arm he was allowed to use it took me a moment to remember what he meant, and another moment to remember which was the good arm. As he said, that showed that clearly all the injections and drips I've had in my arm were not weighing heavily on my mind.
Thanks for your comment Maddie - I see what you mean. I remember sitting in the waiting room at the hospital with the only worry in my mind the fact that I was going to be late for work and then a minute later being told I had cancer.

It must be distracting and reminding of the false breast when you feel lopsided. Testing with oranges sounds like a good idea or you could check if there is anywhere you could try on different ones to test them out.
There are a couple of support services in the city that might be able to offer some help & advice. (I hope it is ok to post these links)

Do they mean an actual mountain? Maybe something like would be good, to give you a goal to work towards.
Even if you don't like that idea, they're only trying to help. Maybe there is something else new that you could do.

Thanks smellingtheroses - often after my counselling session I feel like discussing the issues raised with someone else. Just to go over "I said this" and "she said that" and what it all means. Actually instead of a one hour session it would be good to have a half hour in the morning and then the other half hour in the afternoon when I've had some time to think!

Hi Rachel, When I was at support services when I was newly diagnosed I came across people who were finished or nearly finished their treatment and I didn't understand why they were still needing support. I understand now.
I'm sure people who know me have no idea of the emotional toll it has taken. I also worry that my brain does not work as well now as it did before.
I guess there is no solution but maybe just time passing and talking to people will help.
