Oh how I can relate to your words, samex. I used to wear the most atrocious shoes - huge skinny heels, wobbling around because I and everyone who was wearing them thought they were sooo fashionable. Now, as you said, it is the expensive 'sensible' shoes that some of us are forced or choose to wear - for my part I choose to wear them now as MS 'forced' me to wear flat shoes. Since I have been on chemo,about once or twice a week my feet really hurt- they sting! I checked them out tonight and found the soles of my feet were peeling - so I have rubbed cream into them and am wearing pretty pink socks to protect them. I can always pretend the socks are $300 shoes! A little attempt at humour - my feet have always been sensitive - I can't stand anyone touching them and since getting MS they twitch as do my legs - not all the time but occasionally. Putting the cream on my feet tonight was a feat (no pun intended) in itself! Anyway I hope your feet stop hurting and as you so wisely said -at least we are here to feel the discomfort. Welcome Caring Partner- I posted my first ever blog not all that long ago and didn't really know what I was doing. I am sorry about your partner - I had the same diagnosis August 10 - I have had 4 chemo treatments and am being given Avastin for my liver tumors - 14 of them. I can understand your worry - my sister is my worrier - but as I have been told numerous times - everyone is different and each reacts differently to treatments. Unfortunately no one knows the outcome- it's just a matter of each day at a time - some days really good, some horrible. Poor Jules - shingles, from what I have heard is a bugger - just be nice and kind to yourself and I hope they are not too painful. My Mum had them across her breasts and my Grandad had them across his forehead - this was many many moons ago. I loved your reference to the 'baby' doctor - I look at some of them and think Yep old enough to be his/her mother and they are going to tell me what to do!!mmmm I love this site, I think I've been fairly restrained in my blog and expressive writing - another way of saying I haven't totally let loose and become feral!! As I say that - I'm going to have a grizzle - I feel sick, I don't feel like doing anything but sleeping; my home looks like a bomb has hit it, still haven't put away lots of presents - half I've forgotten what they are! I feel really lazy and guilty because there is so much I want to do- not necessarily have to- and I really can't get motivated and I still feel sick! Sailor,I hope your next blood tests are good so you don't have to have a scan.If weight loss and exercise are advised- it's a pain- but probably good advice! I think it is about time I took my doctor's advice and did a bit more exercise, while making sure I drink my 2-3 litres of fluid and eat my damn vegetables and grain bread and fruit etc etc. We all need a little diversion every now and again and the elderly gentleman unwittingly provided that.I wonder what his reaction would be if he knew he was a topic of conversation on a cancer website! Hi Samex, thanks for your reassuring words - yes everyone is scared to a degree, I've just got to make sure that I don't let it overwhelm me. I read your profile - you have the same as me, but you mentioned a worry about your liver. That is my biggest worry - I have 14 tumors that is why I am on Avastin also - I neglected to put a few things in my profile - I didn't want to show off!!! The surgeons took out my ovaries and 12 lymph nodes- all cancerous and all because my Grandfather's side of the family had THE gene!! Thanks Jules , you are so right, a cat is a cat, she decides where and when and who she deigns to be with. To both you and Sailor she did finally arrive on my bed at some stage during the night and did what she and I delight in her doing -p u r r !!!
