Well I came a bit unstuck tonight - be the first time since Rob's diagnosis I think. We watched My Sisters Keeper tonight and OMG did I cry or what? For those who don't know what the movie is about, I'll give you a quick rundown. Kate is a teenage girl who for most of her life has been fighting leukaemia. Her younger sister was genetically engineered and born specifically to be a perfect match for her sister. To save her. The story documents the perspective of all family members through Kate's journey and eventual passing. Oh. My. Gaw. I was swept away by this beautiful story and could not help but cry bucketloads (Rob also bawled) watching Kate's wisdom, strength and yet seeming vunerability. Joy, sadness, anger, frustration, tenderness and pain. I could relate in so many ways, especially to Sarah. It reminded me to see the joy in the simplest of moments, of every day things and how important family is. Truly inspiring movie that if you haven't seen, you should. Couldn't help but laugh though - that after the movie finished, Rob promptly put on some action yobbo movie to cover up any vunerability of his own and is currently watching blood and gore being splattered everywhere. Men. Ugh.
