My mum was diagnosed with Gallbladder cancer in February 2010 since then it has spread to her liver, bile duct, lymp nodes around the bile duct, abdomen, and has cancer spots on her stomach now. Mum has had 3 major surgeries to remove her gallbladder, half of her liver and recontruction of the bile ducts, and just recently she had a large tumor from her abdomen. Mum has had about 3 months of Chemo and 6 weeks of radiation therapy. I don't really know whats going to happen to mum the doctors are very aloof with there responses to my family. I know that my cancer is advanced and angressive. is there anyone else out there that is dealing with gallbladder cancer? would love to hear from anyone. thanks

Hi Natpat, Sorry to hear about your mum's ordeal. It is so hard to watch our loved ones suffer. I have heard that God gives us what we can bare. I know that you must be strong to be given this load. I had bowel cancer so it isn't the same. Also I know that everyone is different. Perhaps the Doctors don't know the answers either. Just hang in there and stay positive.

Hi Natpat, Sorry to read your ordeal Above. My Wife has stage 4 But they found it AFTER removing her GallBladder She also went in for the MAJOR operation you discribed But stopped half way When it was found in Bladder and Lymph node She has started Chemo and has just finished her second dosage Sadly no Radiation will be done for Her unless the other Lymph nodes found on the CAT SCAN can be reduced completely :( This is a very AGGRESSIVE Cancer And Although spirits are High and She is doing extremely Well! She will be having Chemotherapy for at least 6 months :( I hate watching her go through all this As you will understand You HOPE and Rely in the Professionals that they got it all right! And I can so Relate to the comment YOU made Regarding Doctors Vagueness! PLEASE can you write again SOON and let us know just how things are going for you there. As so little is known or even documents on this form of CANCER! Cheers Peter

Hi Pete Not sure if you noticed but that original post was from 2010. I am really sorry to hear of your wife's diagnosis and it must be incredibly tough on you both. One person on this site who is good at giving out links to other places that have information is Felix and am wondering if he has anything up his sleeve that could help you?? Julie

Hi Julie, I am a tad Naive lol..I am not quite sure what you mean by telling me that post was 2010? Am I to assume they Lost their Fight? Sorry but your reply has confused me I had a reply from someone who has not replied in over a year so I just assumed it was ok to reply! This form of Cancer is rare in so many blogs and forums etc. that Any chance of some communication with those in the same position was worth a try Sorry if i may be out of line I am ANGRY(NOT At YOU though :)) I am LOST I am Confused :( Thank though for the recommendation and shall look into it 🙂

Hi Peter, I'm so sorry to hear about your wife's diagnosis, they didn't find my mum's cancer until after they removed her gall bladder as well. My mum passed away on the 22th of October 2010. We brought her home about a week and a half after I made that post so she could pass away at home, we had silver chain coming around every day. Mum wasn't able to have any further treatments as she was too weak after all the operations she had. Don't be afraid to ask question's I found that end the end I just had to be blatant and straight forward with my questions and told the Doctor not sugar coat anything and give it to me straight. I wasn't rude I just let them know they could be straight forward with me. I'm happy to answer any question's you have, I'm very open about my mum's struggle with cancer and her passing. stay positive. Nat

Hey Pete really glad someone replied. The only reason I pointed out that the post was written in 2010 was in case you didn't get a reply and would perhaps wonder why and it might be upsetting for you. It is fine for anyone to write on any post and I didn't mean that it wasn't ok for you to do that. Only had concern for you as I can tell you are reaching out. Take care and hope you get some answers. Julie
