I hope someone can help here. My husband recently returned to work after being on a Carer's Payment for the past 2 years. I was diagnosed with an incurable brain cancer and he had to quit his job to care for me. I have now found that he is away too much (up to 12 hours a day, 5-6 days a week) and he wants to quit and return to being my carer while he looks for part-time work that is closer to home. Is he able to go back on the Carer's payment with minimal fuss? Or would we have to go through all the paperwork and rigamarole of re-applying? It took months to get approved in the first place. Is he better off applying for unemployment? Thanks for any insight.
