Feel like a dream, a bad dream

My husband was diagnosed 4 months ago with Cancer of Unknown Primary (CUP). He went through a number of test to figure out the primary and they think it's the kidneys. They can't confirm as kidney cancer doesn't show well with PET scan. So currently the diagnosis is stage 4 kidney cancer and just started receiving immunotherapy. Doctor can't do any surgery as it has spread and risky.

I was a mess when we found out and gotten a bit better but feeling of lost/helpless still comes back now and then. We recently just become empty nesters and have been making plans to travel when this time come. Do you feel like just packing things up and spend time together making memories while it's possible because the prognosis is not good? I know it sounds careless but I want to remember him happy.
