War on Mantle Cell Lymphoma (MCL)

Hi everyone

I am new to this forum. I have been diagnosed with stage 4 MCL and have already gone through 5 chemo cycles on the Nordic Protocol. I have one more cycle before what an UK cancer site moderator calls it the "Magical Mystery Tour". This is when I will be given the semi lethal dose of chemo and when my stem cells will be re-input back into my body. I have a PICC line and have since May 2019. So far, my specialist is happy with the results but as we all know, anything can happen.

The war is not over yet so watch this space.

Hi DonCorleone,

Welcome to our friendly little neighborhood forums, let us know how everything goes with the treatment? Sounds like the specialist is lining up a few things.

Re: War on Mantle Cell Lymphoma (MCL)

Hi everyone,

Thought I give you an update. So to keep things a little bit more vibrant, I was "lucky" to be admitted to emergency twice for the same reason, high temperature. They did a lot of tests, fill me up with antibiotics but never found the source. I guess that is good news as it wasn't something big but as you guys know if the temperature is 38 or over, it is straight to ED.

Today I have just been given the start of my sixth cycle and was sent home with a pump which will deliver two doses of cytarabine twice every 24 hours. Will go beck tomorrow to the hospital and they will replace the pump for another two doses and then, they will unhook the pump. Yhe worst part about the pump is sleeping at night. The best part is that as the hospital didn't have the correct bags to carry it, I am using one of my wife's handbags... my dreams came true... yeahhh.

Now comes the break before the Magical Mystery Tour. I will see the specialist on 17October and a week before then, I have been booked for a "Gated Heart Scan" and a "PET CT" scan. Soon I will also be booked for another Bone Marrow Biopsy. Following the results, ehe doctor things that November will be the TOUR.

Anyhow, so far so good

Till next time

Sounds very action packed for the next couple of weeks. I hope you remember to rest inbetween activities!
