CDK4/6

My Mum has just found out that her breast cancer has spread to her hip and spine. The oncologist is starting her on CDK4/6 in conjunction with other treatments. I understand it is quite a new drug and the doctor has shared some examples of side effects. I was wondering whether anyone has any first hand experience they would be happy to share? How manageable are the side effects? Has it helped in delaying further progression of the cancer? Any comments are much appreciated.

Re: CDK4/6

Morning @ag2019,

I just wanted to check in and see how your Mum went regarding treatment with CDK4/6?

There's some good information over at NPS Medicinewise on some of the variants - Palbociclib and Ribociclib.

Has anyone else here been on either of the above at all?

Cheers,

Kate

Re: CDK4/6

Hi Katekat,

As expected, there have been some side effects but she is finding ways to manage those each day. She is on Ribociclib - thank you for the information.

Cheers,

Amy
