Just a note to remind people that human relatives and friends are not the only ones to be adversely impacted when someone is battling cancer. Pets also suffer, and in many cases, it can also mean loss of their own lives or homes, as well as their loved one. "Ronnie", a beautiful Maltese terrier, about 8 years old, still young in spirit and very loving, has been surrendered by his male owner, who is very unwell and currently receiving chemotherapy. Ronnie was surrendered on 27 November and is at Canterbury Pound (Fairford Road)NSW. The shelter Ph no. 97096844 ,Hours 9-7 M-F, 9-12 Sat &Sun. With so many dogs at this time of year in pounds, Ronnie has yet to be adopted. His previous owner is maintaining contact with the pound to see if he has found a home. If you have a look at Ronnie at the link below you'll see how gorgeous he is:- www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?showtopic=154698 (or go to www.dogzonline.com.au, forums, rescue, urgent, canterbury pound) He is the second one down, after Cairo, another dog. Ronnie cc145 Male maltese. He has already been there for nearly a month - they cannot keep him forever (you know what that means....) Please, if you know anyone who would love to own a beautiful little dog like this, let them know about Ronnie asap. You would be providing one cancer sufferer with peace of mind in this respect at least. Or just, somehow, spread the word..... - This was posted by Margpie, an animal lover(who lives interstate and already has too many pets/animal rescues.)
