Re : Oxaliplatin

Hi just want to know if anyway has had a bad reaction to chemo using Oxaliplatin drug?  My bad reaction to Oxaliplatin where I could not breath well as I was trying to gasp for air. They had to call in the emergency team to see what was happening.  Then they gave a steroid to calm my breathing down and also gave me oxygen.  Which eventually my breathing calm down but it was scary for me.  Does anyone know when someone has had a bad  reaction to Oxaliplatin do you thing they will give it to me again?  As they told me that this is the top chemo drug.

Re: Re : Oxaliplatin

Hello there🤗

A negative reaction to Oxaliplatin; such as difficulty breathing and gasping for air, can be severe and terrifying. In your case; emergency response; steroids; and oxygen all helped to settle your breathing. It is important to mention this reaction to your oncologist since they may change your treatment strategy.
