I’m 26 and last year my dad passed away from Bowel cancer and we just had his anniversary and birthday. Then yesterday I had an excision biopsy to remove a suspicious (sun?) spot. Waiting for results to find out if it’s skin cancer is so hard. I’m trying not to worry but I guess my dad getting cancer showed me that even seemingly healthy people can get sick out of nowhere. I’ve been supported by CanTeen too which has been amazing but also showed me that young people get cancer too. I just needed to write this down and share it. I know no one can make the wait any shorter but I wanted to see if anyone could relate? Thank you
Cancer Council NSW would like to acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which we live and work.We would also like to pay respect to elders past and present and extend that respect to all other Aboriginal people.
