Opportunity for Australian Carers to evaluate a new educational program . . .
Australian Carers are invited to evaluate a new educational program designed to improve carer involvement in cancer care.
Researchers at the University of Sydney are offering carers living in Australia, access to an evidence-based online learning program to improve communication between clinicians, people with cancer and their carers.
The training program (eTRIO-pc) includes information about how carers can partner with and support their loved one with cancer, and offers strategies and tips to help with making medical decisions, communicating with health professionals, and advocating for loved ones. Study participants will complete the eTRIO-pc training and complete three online surveys.
As a carer for someone with cancer, you can participate in this study if you live in Australia and:
- are a person biologically, legally or emotionally related to someone with cancer who is about to start, currently undergoing, or are up to 12 months post active treatment
- are aged over 18 years
- support your loved one with cancer inside and outside of oncology consultations
- have internet access and a computer to complete the online modules and surveys.
