Transport to treatment

Travelling back and forth to medical appointments can be difficult for many people with cancer, as well as their family and carers.

Cancer treatments often span a large period of time, requiring multiple visits that may be far away from home. Cancer Council knows that having appropriate travel to your health services are important.

Some states and territories in Australia, are able to provide transport for people affected by cancer, so that they can get to their treatment facilities comfortably. These might be provided through donations, corporate partnerships, grant funding with community transport providers, our volunteer drivers using their own cars or Cancer Council owned cars.

Transport to Treatment drivers across Australia, have completed thousands of trips and covered even more thousands of kilometres to help get people affected by cancer to their treatment.

To find out if Cancer Council operates a transport program near you, please call 13 11 20 on weekdays, between 9am-5pm.
