Perhaps you are too unwell or your illness limits your ability to travel? Cancer Council's Telephone Support Group program is a great way to be able to get support from the comfort of home.
Telephone Support Groups (TSG's) offer support and information from others in similar situations, for adults affected by cancer, including people living with cancer, their families and carers.
Regardless of where you are located in Australia, TSG's offer you the opportunity to talk with other people going through a similar situation to your own. You can share information, real world experiences, as well as give and receive support. You can also share practial tips and strategies with each other.
Each group has 3-8 members and two qualified facilitators, groups get together over the phone twice a month – each session lasts an hour. Participation is flexible – it’s okay to skip sessions when you need to – and it’s free and confidential.
