Hand and foot syndrome

I've been on Xeloda for several months and have recently developed hand and foot syndrome. I have blisters on my toes and peeling on my thumbs and a few fingers. The recommended treatment is heavy moisturizing but this only works on the peeling skin. Has anyone found something for the nasty blisters that are next to toenails and very sore and oozy? I am very frustrated as they just won't clear up and are very uncomfortable and make walking painful. Any suggestions?
