Hi everyone A few months ago I was diagnosed with Bells Palsy and from the CT scan there a larger nodule was picked up. My GP referred me for an ultra sound and a biopsy and from that it was determined I had Papillary Thyroid Cancer with Oncocytic change (a more aggressive variant). The specialist and surgeon wanted my whole thyroid out quickly so fast forward a few weeks and I had a full thyroidectomy with neck dissection. I found out today the pathology results have come back with no malignant to be found. Whilst I am relieved there is no cancer found, I am finding myself very emotional and the fact I had the operation and was told i had cancer. The emotional roller-coaster has been incredible. Has anyone else been in a similar situation and how did you handle the emotions and understanding how everyone thought it was cancer and wanted it out quickly to being told this.
