I’m a 31yo female in the middle of getting tests because my doctor strongly thinks it’s bowel cancer, I know he shouldn’t have said those words to me but I understand he’s just concerned. Just wondering because a lot of people who are diagnosed have low iron or anemia, my iron levels are ok at the moment which is actually quite weird as my whole life I’ve been iron deficient but I’m suddenly not anymore? Can you still have it without low iron level? my bloods are normal except a bit high inflammation levels and my liver levels are high and low urea levels. I’ve lost 31kgs in 8 months and did a couple of stool tests which came back positive with blood in them. I’ve noticed bleeding on and off when I wipe and in the toilet for quite a while now along with yellow mucus on the toilet paper and change in bowel habits. I got often now and very loose and feel like my bowel doesn’t empty properly. I get pain sometimes mainly upper left under my rib and sometimes middle or lower abdomen it varies really. I’m tired a lot too. It’s just weird I’m not anemic because I’m losing blood and tired? I’ve been referred for an urgent colonoscopy which I’m waiting for a phone call and I had a CT scan on my abdomen yesterday. If the CT is normal does that mean the colonoscopy will be normal? sorry for all the questions it’s normal to be curious!
