Hi, my name is David and I'm 63. A CT scan in early January found a tumour on my pancreas that had spread to my liver. Stage 4. After the biopsy, it was confirmed to be a small cell carcinoma pancreatic cancer. A rare and very aggressive form that puts me into the 1%. Currently going through chemo with the last round in a couple of weeks starting 13th April. Each visit comprises of 3 days then a 3 week break in between. Thereafter I'm not sure what the oncologist has in mind. I think it may be genome testing to get on to some clinical trial. But I believe that is subject to a criterion if I pass. Has anyone gone through this process and gotten into clinical trials and if so, what are good ones, are there costs, etc? Or is it better to try newer drugs? I've tried getting all my things in order, so my wife has ease with dealing with everything in the future. I feel guilty not being able to look after her as I have been to date. I worry about it a lot. Well, I couldn't sleep and I'm glad to have found this forum to unload my thoughts. Thanks.
