I wandered lonely as a Cloud That floats on high o'er Vales and Hills, When all at once I saw a crowd A host of dancing Daffodils; Along the Lake, beneath the trees, Ten thousand dancing in the breeze. The waves beside them danced, but they Outdid the sparkling waves in glee: -- A poet could not but be gay In such a laughing company: I gazed—and gazed—but little thought What wealth the show to me had brought: For oft when on my couch I lie In vacant or in pensive mood, They flash upon that inward eye Which is the bliss of solitude, And then my heart with pleasure fills, And dances with the Daffodils.

Hi Harker, it is a very descriptive poem. I have stumbled across Williams' poetry by accident.....As soon as I read the poem I could project the images of a river of dancing daffodils that flow around and under an old oak tree, along a steep cliff of a babbling brook.... it inspires me to pick up my charcoal and sketch pad. I became seduced and felt connected to Williams' poetry but did not know why, because it was all so random....so I googled and discover William was born 7 April, 1770. The number 7 has become very significant to me over the years. my ultrasound and diagnosis was 7 March '11, my surgery day was 7 April '11 , I was born on the 7th day of June. The birth of our puppies are 7 days after our anniversary. We have been married 7 yrs this year and I seem to begin a new phase of living around every 7 years......so what I'm about to do now on this rainy day in Brisbane is make a hot cuppa and start on that sketch.......

Thanks for that. Don't you all just love daffodils? I have had a lot flower in various parts of our gardens this year. One corner garden that years ago I decided to dedicate to my dad, had over 20 flowers out. It looked great. Dad, I am sure that you would have loved them too.
