Dear Jo It's sad that you have to face this at such a young age, but you've come to the right place for oodles of support and understanding. I occasionally visit a blog called 'Caroline's Breast Cancer Blog'; it's inspirational, and at times funny - have a look if you like: http://carolinemfr.blogspot.com/ All the best for your journey Richard

Hi Jo I was diagnosed with breast cancer last year when I was 33. I think I was in shock for the first few weeks. There is a lot of information to try and absorb all of a sudden but try not to get too overwhelmed by it all. I had chemo and a mastecomy and I tried to just deal with one small step at time. Have you received your other results? Best wishes

Hi Allicat, Thank you for your response. It is sad to hear that there are more than just a hand full of us out there and that this is getting more common in younger women. I have a lesion on my liver that they are looking at closer (MRI in about 3 weeks)to see if it is secondary. I also showed increased uptake in my L1 during the CT. I am having my mastectomy on wednesday the 12thof october. Scared shitless to be honest about it but glad in a way to have it out of the way so i can get this thing out of my body. I am still waiting on the rest of the pathology to come back and find out about the hormone side of things. Thank you for asking and i will keep everything updated as much as i can. Still looking for another type 1 who has been through this though.

Good luck for your surgery tomorrow Jo. I was terrified before my mastecomy. I found it impossible to get my head around the idea of what was going to happen. But, it did happen and now I'm ok with it all. Best wishes.
