The Cancer Council and 16 young adults affected by cancer are about to embark on a 2 day training course in Sydney this weekend to learn advocacy skills so they can get active in their local cancer community and address some major issues that they know exist.
I did this training 2 and a half years ago and it blew me away! It was this training that actually got me engage with the cancer council and enthused to have a voice and stand up to the inequalities and inadequacies of cancer related issues.
It takes a certain kind of person to stand up and have a go, so well done to you all for taking an interest in advocacy and wanting to make a difference and improve peoples lives who are experiencing cancer.
You guys Rock!!
Cancer Council NSW would like to acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which we live and work.We would also like to pay respect to elders past and present and extend that respect to all other Aboriginal people.
