It's only been a day since I have found Cancer Connections....what a ray of light. It's wonderful to read about others and their personal journeys. I thought I understood about cancer before I was diagnosed. I watched a very close family member survive breast cancer, chemo, the loss of her hair, the exhaustion, the mental anguish. Boy was I in denial. I had no idea.
Thank you to those who have already written to me and made me feel welcome. There is an unspoken word, a community, a family of people who share the pain, the hope, the journey. I think this is exactly what I need in order to find my "normal".
Cancer Council NSW would like to acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which we live and work.We would also like to pay respect to elders past and present and extend that respect to all other Aboriginal people.
