Hi everyone I had an open partial Nephrectomy in Oct 2012 to remove a renal cell carcinoma . I was very lucky as the tumor was found early, it was still very small and had not spread anywhere. Follow up CT scan and x-ray last week confirmed that I am now cancer free and my urologist said I have a less than 1% chance of recurrence or spread. My surgery went very smoothly with no post op complications but I am concerned that 15 weeks after surgery I still have quite a lot of pain. I had 12 weeks off work and I was very good and didn't exert myself too much but I expected the pain to have settled by now.
Has anyone else had the same surgery and if so how long did it take for your pain to go away completely? I know we are all different and recovery times vary but it would be reassuring to know that others have experienced pain this long after surgery. Thanks for any replies.
