Hi Maddie86 One of the advantages of this site is that we are anonymous and some of us value that very highly. We can be honest and admit t having issues without anyone knowing who we are. However, if you do want to meet people who are experiencing similar issues to yourself, then the Cancer Council coordinates a great range of support groups and you can link up with them. Give 13 11 20 a phone call and they will give you the information about support groups in your area. If you do come across someone whom you think may be on this site, do not under any circumstances reveal that information. Hello Maddie86, I understand you would like to meet up with ppl from Melbourne. I too feel strong about this. However, after reading Felix blog, I understand it is not a good idea. All I can say to you is that I have this need too, to meet others in similar situations. I did what Felix suggestion 3 mths ago and I have found there are meetings first Thursday of every month, in the SE Suburb (I won't say where unless I have permission to). Great bunch of ppl and last month they had a guest speaker who spoke about Mental Health and it was so interesting and enjoyable, we have coffee there and leave. However, I also find that once a month isn't enough for me. As I like to fill my diary daily, even if it is just coffee and chat, as this inspires me to get up in the mornings. I find myself going to the shopping center alone, sit and read the newspaper and have a coffee, as there is no one else that I know that has the time to do this with me. I feel if we could establish a safe meeting place would be great. But I cannot instigate this at this time. Best regards DaphneRose
