Hey out there

I am a carer for a friend recently diagnosed with lung cancer. He is having a lot of trouble accepting this and therefore stress levels are rising. Lots of talk about walking away from treatment. This cancer thing is totally new for me and I have trouble answering his many questions. The cancer specialist is very thorough, and also very busy. At this stage I am looking for help in supporting my friend, and places to go for more info. Thanks cheers

Re: Hey out there

Hello Starline, When we found out my husband had cancer, I found going on the net to search for organisations and information in regrads to the cancer. Once i obtained the infomation I was able to assist my husband to understand the cancer. The internet has heaps of info, type in lung cancer and watch the info, at the end of the day it will depend how much you want to know, I feel the more the better as when you are armed with info it makes it easier when visiting specialists, and understanding the process.

Although some people say that looking on the net is not helpful ,I agree. I learnt what I know about my cancer from the net . Doctors use it to some extent as well.

Try calling Cancer Connect 131120. With Cancer Connect they match you up with a trained Peer Support Volunteer. These volunteers (I am one of them) have experienced the same cancer, treatment, or other problems you might have.
