When your home becomes an open house

Hi, I am just wandering if anyone has some words of wisdom for a new carer. My nan is now living with my family and I, while she is undergoing palliative care. Although I feel blessed that she has chosen our family to care for her, I am having trouble balancing my own immediate family's privacy with the extended family's visits. I don't feel I can impose 'visiting hours' on my nan's other family members, or can I?

Hi I don't see any problems in having some sort of visiting time - family would realise you have other commitments.  You just need to say something like - Could you come between 3 and 7 because I need to do other things and have commitments at other times.  I am sure your family would understand especially as you are trying to cope with two families now.
