Husband’s probable pancreatic cancer

Husband’s probable pancreatic cancer

A small tumor was just confirmed at the tail of my husband’s pancreas. It is assumed cancerous unless proven not, and based on his incredible decline in weight and fatigue since January it makes no sense to me that it will be benign. Even if that is the case, he is suffering so much that I believe this forum will help me as I help him through this. He’s battled fatigue since having Covid before the vaccines rolled out. I wonder if what was presumably long Covid was instead this cancer. The poor man is also exhibiting symptoms consistent with Parkinson’s.
My husband will be undergoing at minimum a biopsy on February 17 at Cedars Sinai. If the appointment is confirmed we will be able to have an advance meeting with his doctor next week. Otherwise, it’s all about the 17th.
One of the biggest reasons for my joining the forum now is that I am honoring my husband’s request not to notify our daughters yet. If anything more than a needle biopsy will be done on the 17th they will definitely be told in advance.  I but in the meantime I have no one to really talk to. I thought unloading on this forum and reading the experiences of others will help me be strong.

Hi I hope the news from the biopsy is positive for your husband weight loss and fatigue, can be a symptom,I had surgery for head of pancreas ,not the tail many years ago,it was successful for me,Poor chap having Parkinson’s symptoms, they can sometimes be caused by different meds,I hope that is the case,my wife has Parkinson’s ,the hard part is the waiting on a definitive diagnosis for both illnesses, yes you can find support on a forum,my experience is not with the tail but very similar surgery.best wishes.

Re: Husband’s probable pancreatic cancer

Hello scarlet 834, so sorry about your dear husband. Until he has the biopsy you can’t know the diagnosis yet. It must be so hard not to share this with your daughters.  I know when I was diagnosed with non Hodgkin’s lymphoma my husband and 3 adult children were such a necessary support.  Any time you need comfort we are all willing to help. 🥰     Linda G🙏

Re: Husband’s probable pancreatic cancer

I want to thank you for your replies. My husband let my three daughters know today that something serious is going on. First visit to specialist is this Thursday and we go from there. I am actually not sure now when a biopsy or other procedure might be, but hoping ot is soon.
