Just diagnosed, feeling scared!

Hi I have just been diagnosed with cervical cancer following a routine pap smear. I have 3 children 27,25 and 18. I am currently to see a specialist at the end of October and have had a PET scan 2 days ago. Its been a roller coaster of emotions which I guess is normal! Just looking for some support and comfort whilst travelling along this rocky road! Thanks

Hi Jane, There is a group here that you may like to join. It is for women with gynaecological cancers. The group has a online chat session each month where we discuss treatment, coping mechanisms and general information on our experiences. You may find this helpful. The group ranges in ages and stages of treatment, and I'm sure one or more of our ladies may be able to offer you some insight. I myself had uterine cancer, and was treated successfully a little over two years ago, but some of our members are receiving chemo or waiting for treatment plans. Hi can anyone recommend an excellent gynaecological oncologist that helps elderly women i need to get the best treatment for my mum with someone who cares and doesnt give me half the story

Hi Leah I am in nsw central coast. Can anyone tell me if the cervical cancer has spread to the lymph nodes in the chest but no other organs is there still hope. Also has anyone been given chemo in their 80's as my mums so called gyno is telling her not to do it cause she couldn't handle it but my mum is fit and has no other medical problems.

Can anyone tell me if the cancer has spread to distant lymph nodes and not other organs is it a 4b stage as im getting conflicting information.
