Re: Just diagnosed with bowel and liver cancer

Hi,

I had the same experience myself where I had the same thoughts after being diagnosed with Cancer. I feel for you.

Re: Just diagnosed with bowel and liver cancer

Well after a number of tests, ct scans xrays it has finally been confirmed i have bowel cancer that has spread to my liver.  I am now scheduled to start chemo in the next week for about 3 months. If that works I then have an operation to remove the mass from my bowel. I am so glad I have a plan moving forward as for the past 3 weeks it has been torture not knowing what is going on. However now the real fight is about to begin.

Hi,

I hope your therapy and operation goes well for you. I am still going through a series of tests and scans and meeting my oncologist tomorrow. Praying for a smooth journey. We will fight the good fight.

Re: Just diagnosed with bowel and liver cancer

Hello again Troyc76,

I am sorry you got the news you didn’t want.

Having the next step is good. The limbo can stop and you now have a direction for your mind.

Please know that everyone’s chemotherapy regime is different and it may be hard to find someone with the exact same as yours to talk about online. But if you have any worries or concerns that maybe able to be answered in a common sense way, please ask. Meaning,if you need medical advice, ask the doctors and nurses. But if you want any practical tips, the community can help with their own experience.

My experience in the/my Chemotherapy Day Unit with the staff has been very positive my entire chemotherapy time. The staff are very experienced and can be trusted. They are also extremely kind.

You have already been fighting, now you will be doing it physically.

l am cheering for you and sincerely hope that your plans work out in the direction that you have planned.

Re: Just diagnosed with bowel and liver cancer

Today I seen the chemo dr toblet me know the next steps. He advised that I have stage 4 bowel cancer and liver cancer and its spreading to my spine. Basically he said there is nothing they can do chrmo will kill some of the cancer however it will not destroy it as its terminal. I am not sure how I feel as I am still nimb and in shock. This has happened so quick from first being diagnosed to being g told we cant do anything.....

I guess my main goal now is to live each day to the fullest and try not to think about it. My wife has been my rock during this time but yesterday broke her. I hate seeing her cry. I am so scared for the next 12 months as to what will happen and the fact that there is nothing I can do to stop it.

Re: Just diagnosed with bowel and liver cancer

Thanks Julie for your kind words. Yes it is overwhelming and a sense of homelessness comes over me every now and then. I don't think I can cry any more and trying to look for positives in my life. I guess the best thing is I  still wake up each day and have to take full advantage of that. I have started a bucket list which has helped and gives me something to look forward to. Apart from that chemo starts on Wednesday so hopefully my body will accept this and do its best to destroy the cancer. Anyway justvwanted to say thanks for your message and  keep strong you got this  💪
