Financial assistance

A diagnosis of cancer can place people into emotional and financial stress, especially with the prospect of facing medical bills and additional travel costs.

Cancer Council can help you find resources that may be able to help, these might be community or government-based. We can also assist Australians and their families affected by cancer, with the costs related to some emergency and living expenses (note: this is dependent on your states or territory).

Cancer Council also has a national Pro Bono Program, that can connect you with professionals such as financial planners, accountants and lawyers, who can assist you.

Please call 13 11 20 in your state or territory, between 9am-5pm weekdays, to find out more about any of the above programs.
