Scarring from anal cancer ~ bad bowel problems

Hi All, My treatment ended 2.5 years ago, but I have terrible bowel problems. Diarrhea and digestive issues. I am wondering if it could be from some pretty extensive scarring. My doctors have not told me much of anything, other than if I can’t control it I need a colostomy bag. No more surgery, please. I am just wondering if anyone up here has similar problems and maybe solutions? I have recently started a low FODMAPS diet, which helps. Thanks!

Hi Sue I read your post & I am still having bowel & stomach issues. I last had radiation on 5 Aug 22. I had a PET Scan in Nov & it has made it a bit worse.

I didn't have bowel cancel. I had cervical.

Thank you, EG1. I appreciate your response. I think it takes a long time. Though I have chronic illnesses and think things are moving more slowly because of that. I hope you feel better soon!
