Dealing with the frustrating effects of lethargy - grade 2 Oligoastrocytoma

Thinking of the recent discussions held with other brain tumour sufferers, referring to coping with the ongoing and frustrating situation we all suffer in different forms. I thought I’d document my current feelings and thoughts after a short days work (5 hours).

I used to be able to cope with this volume and much more years ago, sadly, with age and the tumour situation, working for five hours now in a situation where direct contact with people (no offence intended) drains me to the point where I am now on my second day after the event, which i really enjoyed photographing and am feeling really drained.

I know I’ve said before and planned to put into action the balancing of time...i just find it very frustrating that I can’t stick to it and constantly find myself on day two afterwards, feeling stressed and anxious about the situation I’m in. I guess I manage this okay as i deal with this the best I can. Try to relax, don’t plan too much work for following days and manage the tiredness and ultimately accept and not try and fight it...easier said than done, but I am slowly learning to deal with and accept this state of being.

Hi Matthew,

I noticed that you posted your thread in October?? Has the doctors recommended anything natural for vitamin levels and how are you going?

Re: Dealing with the frustrating effects of lethargy - grade 2 Oligoastrocytoma

I have had this low grade tumour since diagnosed in 2007. After having the initial biopsy to find out what type of tumour it was, getting back to that normal lifestyle was difficult. I learnt the hard way when I had a grand mal seizure (@2012), followed just over twelve months later by another whilst driving (scared the crap out of me & thankfully no injuries to anyone else).

I have had to maintain usual treatments recommended by my specialist. That being Kepra, for epilepsy.

Fortunately, I haven’t had any further grand mal seizures, just a debunking operation in 2017. This was immediately followed by radiation then chemo.

The only natural medication i take is no alcohol and healthy diet, exercise, when i have the energy!

I find the energy factor a major battle, but I’m aware if i let myself get too rundown, I’ll pay the price!

it’s all about moderation, easier said than done!

Hi Matthew!

I'm pleased to see that you have discovered a balance for yourself which seems to work quite well. Others in the future will definitely be able to benefit from this too.
