A little anxious

Hello Everyone,

I was diagnosed with Brain Cancer on September 6th 2024. With a massive tumor in the left side of my brain .They were able to remove the tumor at St Micheals on September 10th. My brain cancer is a rare one and as I was told by my Cancef treatment team at SunnyBrook,  my cancer has no cause it is just bad luck. How sad.

I am now on my last week of 6 weeks  Chemotherapy and Radiation .

I'm terrified of the what's next and the unknown.

Thanks for listening.  Someone to talk to during this is awesome,  thank you

Re: A little anxious

Hi @Autumn27 ,

Wow, I'm so sorry, sounds terrifying, glad the cancer's been removed and the chemo's nearly over though,

so the worst is over really but I know you must still be scared, it's just natural.

I have a different type of cancer which has been removed now ( called bladder cancer even though it was in my ureter) and am coming up to my last cycle of chemo.( Gemcitabine and Carboplatin)

It's been hard, but determined to not give up!

What sort of chemo are you on?

are you coping ok? hope you have some sort of support at home ?

People on here are helpful, so reach out.

Good luck with it all, I find it helps to try to think positively and to be grateful that the tumor's been found, removed and we will only get better and better.😊

Sending hugs,

Cindi xx

Re: A little anxious

Thanks for the message but unfortunately my cancer will never be removed.  It can only be controlled.  So I believe chemo will be in my diet for a while. I just don't know what the future is

Re: A little anxious

@Autumn27

Oh I'm sorry, did your Oncologist say you'd be having chemo for ever?

Maybe they have a "maintenance" style chemo which is much easier I believe?

I know a guy with lung cancer on this type of milder chemo (pills) and he goes about life as usual with no side affects.

So there's always hope.

xx
