Re: Nervously waiting for liver biopsy results

Thats good to hear Cindy, sunshine always makes me feel better too. Its really tough, trying to come to grips with it all. Its like your life is cruising along then all of a sudden someone pulls on the handbrake, and everything changes. Where do you live? Do you have access to a beach? Thats always been my favourite place. Hope we can stay in touch, its good to talk to someone going through something similar, as bad as it is. My treatment will involve trying to shrink the tumour enough where they might be able to remove it. Its such a worry. Be strong and dont give up. I should listen to my own advice lol. Look after yourself. G x

Re: Nervously waiting for liver biopsy results

Hi@Greg57,

Yes the unknown is daunting isn't it but often not as bad as we imagine, so try to think that you are on the way to being cured.

I don't have access to a beach, I'm not too far from the coast but around my area is lovely bush land where I enjoy walks.

I used to live in a beach suburb and I used to love walking on the beach and swimming.

Have you got access to a beach?

Hope each day you feel a little better and soon you'll be able to start walking again😊

xx

Re: Nervously waiting for liver biopsy results

Hi Cindy, im in Sydney now, so getting to the beach is not as easy as it used to be, but i still go fishing now and then. Its calming. Im still able to walk but get tired really quickly. Im off to see my social worker today and as there is very limited parking i take the train, and the 15 min walk to the hospital even has me buggered sometimes. I know i have to soldier on if im going to see this through. Take care, G xx

Re: Nervously waiting for liver biopsy results

Hi Jennifer, thanks for those kind words, you are not wrong about it playing with your mind. Its like being strapped into a roller coaster, scared out of your mind, but you cant get off until you ride it out. I love a roller coaster, but not this one. Id really love to thank all the beautiful people on here who have sent me messages of support, love, hugs and kisses. Also the Cancer Council who have been amazing and have arranged some grocery and fuel cards to help get me through. Are you recently diagnosed Jennifer?  Greg

Re: Nervously waiting for liver biopsy results

Hi @greg57 ,

How are you today?

Which hospital do you go to?

I thought you were in Victoria, I must've got that wrong.

Anyway, that's not good if you have to walk so far, I know how it feels to get tired quickly, frustrating isn't it after being so fit and now feel this way, I feel the same.

I think the chemo is affecting my liver as the blood work shows very high LDH, I've contacted my chemo nurse as I've had bad pains yesterday and today, hope she gets back to me soon.

Like you I'll soldier on, but it's not easy.

I'll talk later.

xx

Re: Nervously waiting for liver biopsy results

Hi Cindi, sorry to hear youre not feeling well, it must be so stressful. I am going to Liverpool hospital. Its funny, the last time i had to go there (before this) was 1987 and i sat in emergency for 6 hours with a dislocated shoulder i did playing footy, and it was pretty basic back then. These days it is world class, i couldnt believe the change. Here i am 37 years later and im back there again. I sure im in good hands there. You take care, i hope you get to the bottom of whats causing you the pain. Take care, chat soon. Thinking of you xx

Re: Nervously waiting for liver biopsy results

Hi greg57

Im pleased you are now getting the help and things are going along a lot better. And you’re right about a roller coaster , I feel my brain is in a constant tumble dryer . I  was diagnosed with  cancer in December 2022 and five days before Christmas had my first of eight surgeries with the last in August this year, I am well and we are going away for a week to Perth tomorrow which will be a pleasant change.  Take care and kind thoughts with you.

Re: Nervously waiting for liver biopsy results

Hi @greg57 ,

I'm sorry for not writing sooner, I just got out of Nth Shore hospital.

I had such bad pain that my chemo team made me go to emergency and I was admitted.

It turned out I had an infection in my kidney and was put on intravenous antibiotics, now home at last after 3 nights there, and feeling ok.

I have to have anti- biotics for a week now, I have to try to keep away from anyone sick as the chemo is affecting my immune system, which isn't easy.

Guess I'll have to wear a mask when out places like the supermarket.

It's good you're going away. I hope you take it easy, sorry about you needing to race to the loo so much, hopefully that improves.

I have to drink 2 litres of water a day now, so I will be needing the loo a lot too I guess.

Hope you have a great holiday, I'll be thinking of you.

This coming Thursday I have the double chemo, hope I'm well enough.

Talk soon,

Cindi x
