Re: Nervously waiting for liver biopsy results

Hi Cindi and thank you for your kind words! Yes, chemo can shrink my tumor, but its location will always make it inoperable. ICC has a funny way of coming back and yes, I can keep using chemo for the rest of my life to reshrink after each time it comes back, I am just not sure I want a life with constant chemo. With that being said, I still believe in radical remission and have read about cases like mine that have lived over 40 years, so I haven't given up. I also believe in miracles I am 61 and still have a lot of life in me. God bless!

Re: Nervously waiting for liver biopsy results

hi cindi, had the SIRT treatment thursday, it was the worst day of my life. Havnt eaten or slept since wednesday, vomiting every couple of hours, and have horrendous burning pain in my liver. I wouldnt wish this on anyone. Only positive is there is no more treatment for 3 months when i will have scans done to see if theres any improvement. Have to see my doctor on monday just to go over everything. So, im not in a good place at the moment. How have you been? Hope things are going ok. Thanks for checking in, Greg xx

Re: Nervously waiting for liver biopsy results

I am sorry to hear of your challenges with SIRT. I spoke to a liver who specializes in Liver cancer, and he told me about the procedure, but my main Oncologist wanted me to start with chemotherapy and Immunotherapy infusions first. I started Aug 20th and have had 6 total infusions, twice a month with two weeks off. I just had my follow up MRI to see what it has done to my 6.8 cm tumor. The base line scan before my first infusions showed it had grown 8 mm in 3 months. The scan last week showed NO significant change which my Oncologist said was good news because there was no new growth. He explained how the chemotherapy and immunotherapy work together. I was relieved to hear this was good news and all the side effects were work it. So far, most the side effects are manageable and mild, I have maybe 4 days a month that are the worst and that is usually the same days every month, so I know they are coming and I'm more prepared for them. I hope your body heals from this procedure and your able to manage basic needs better soon. Sending you healing thoughts and prayers!!🙏

Re: Nervously waiting for liver biopsy results

Hi Greg,

Oh no, so sorry to hear how terrible it's been for you!

Sounds dreadful, wow I hope when you see your specialist he can help you.

Sounds strange what happened to you as when I tried to research your operation, what happened to you is very unusual?

Please let us know what the specialist thinks, they must be able to help?

Have you been given strong pain killers at all? sounds like you need them.

Try to have some electrolytes , ( chemist or supermarket) that will help a little.

have you got any help? your partner?

I really feel for you Greg, hope the side affects have lessened by today.

Cindi xx

Re: Nervously waiting for liver biopsy results

Hi Cindi, Thankfully the side effects have settled down, started feeling a bit better on Sunday, im finally starting to get my appetite back. Seen my specialist yesterday for a follow up and im a bit more positive about things after speaking with him. Good news is i dont need anymore treatment, just monthly blood tests and he will see me again in three months to see if theres any improvement. Its really great to not have to visit the hospital for a while, that was getting me down. How are things with you Cindi? Hope you are going ok and staying positive. Chat soon, and thankyou for your message. Thinking of you, Greg xx

Re: Nervously waiting for liver biopsy results

Hi Greg,

Oh what good news for you, all worth it in the end! I'm so happy for you.

Getting out and about now will help you recover, help you physically and mentally.

I've been feeling not good since my last chemo, usually the 2nd chemo in the cycle is easier, but not this time, maybe it builds up in my system or something.

But everything tastes "off" and smells off too, my hearing's being affected too and tinnitus is louder.

Also very light headed & just feel off.

I shouldn't complain though as many are much worse off, I only have one more cycle ( so far) which starts off with the double heavy chemo next week, and I'm a bit worried about it, but I know I have to stick it out.

Anyway other than that I'm not too bad and looking forward to getting to the end and being able to go for long walks in nature again going to the beach and swimming again, and my gym, I really miss that.

Talk soon,

Cindi x
